Pre-order MY DEAD GIRLFRIEND

*Art not final

I know what you're thinking. You're worried that when my new manga MY DEAD GIRLFRIEND is released on January 9th, the demand will be so great that you won't be able to find it anywhere. That it will be like the year of the Tickle-Me-Elmo, and that only the most stalwart shoppers and diligent eBay bidders will prevail.

Fret not! Click on the image above to be transported to Amazon.com where you will be able to pre-order my book. A couple of mouse clicks, some pertinent credit card information, and MY DEAD GIRLFRIEND will be delivered directly to your doorstep. No waiting in long lines, no dealing with smarmy book clerks.

Easy peasy.

But wait, there’s more! For a limited-time only, if you buy my book I’ll be like your friend for life. Well, at least on myspace. How’s that for a deal?

JLA/JSA

This is a commission I drew a while back of one of my favorite eras of the Justice League, back when they used to have to travel to Earth-2 to team up the Justice Society. Little did I know that this drawing would land me the gig on JLA #0.

As cool as it was to get paid to draw the DC holy trinity of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman in JLA #0, the greater reward was befriending Meltzer, Sinclair, and Berganza. I’m anxious to collaborate with them again.

No Thank You

My second foray in the music industry (the first being the CD art for The O.C. Mix 4) was with Capitol Records. I was contracted to design cartoon versions of an up and coming band named The Redwalls. My work was so well received that when Nickelodeon saw the designs, they convinced Capitol to finance an animated music video for the single, “Thank You.”

Ecstatic about the news, I immediately began prepping to direct the music video. I wrote two concept proposals, saw the band perform live and met up with some of the guys afterwards. I even studied hours of behind the scenes footage to ensure no detail was lost. So you can imagine my disappointment when Nickelodeon decided they wanted to cut me out of the process and grossly underbid me to get the job. They didn’t even offer me a chance to storyboard or design any additional characters.

So how did it all turn out in the end? Let’s just say there’s a reason why you can’t find it on the band's website.

Here It Goes Again...

I am briefly emerging from my cave to let everyone know I didn't abandon my blog and flee to Mexico after San Diego comic-con. Between trying to finish up my manga MY DEAD GIRLFRIEND and the Seth-tastic new season of The O.C., I've been pulling 17+ hour work days.

Here are a couple of tour poster concepts I created for my pals OK Go (whose single, "Invincible" was the theme for The Atomic County Verizon cartoon) and The Redwalls (more on them tomorrow). These ultimately went unused, but I had a fun time making them and it's what first got me hooked on their music.

To keep you further entertained, OK Go has released a brilliant new dance video -- this time on treadmills.
